What's the best business to start in a recession?

Now we are recovering from the recession.

But many business started in a recession, like Burger King and Mircosoft.

So what really is the best business to start in a recession?

More fast food franchises? And IT companies?

I am engaging in F&B franchise.

As about recession, it may some times be a big opportunity,
as long as you are looking at the right direction. Smile

I would say F&B Franchises are literally risk-free,
as long as you work with right person and do your market analysis
properly.

Is about opportunity...

Here are some which I feel may be good for recession:

1. Second hand goods,
2. Low premium goods,
3. Property if you can afford,
4. Buy over business who cannot sustain recession,
5. Training services (supported by government)
6. Cost cutting service (like technology that saves manpower)
7. Moving companies (company downsizing)

F&B because people need to eat no matter the financial situation.

They just eat cheaper stuff.

But if businesses cannot endure through the recession, doesnt that mean they wont make it? Why buy over them?

Well, just like me buying shares that fall to low state, knowing that it will climb back with market recovers. But buying company is like trying to help the company stand up on its feet again. Its a challenge. Good in the sense, it has already some customer base which a new business takes years to build. Another is that it normally has a product/services and a unique business model. When we look at a business, we try to look at its strength and its weakness. Think of possible solution before engaging it.

We took over an IT infrastructure from a company with IT services, as we know they did not put heart into improving the way it is being run. After investing some new equipment and restructure the model, we manage to make it profitable business for at least about 6 years now.

Actually, it does not matter..

Given any time & environment, any business can be started and survive and thrive..
If the business owner or the management team knows how to do it, any kind of businesses will be best in the peaks and valleys of the economy..

Well, it means getting the know-how yourself. Or finding someone else who has the expertise to join you or you join him.

It is who and how to work using what channels on it that makes the differences..
