I bumped into this website thinking I could find some business for buying over or get some ideas about starting a business. Or create a business and sell them. Can't find them . => So I started this thread. Hopefully some people who are interested to sell a business and wanting to buy over a kind of business can start here....

Buy a business? In Singapore? I've never really heard of that before. Not from retail investors at least. Isn't it going to take a lot of money to buy a business?

Even so, if the return on investment is good, maybe we can band together to buy one.

But as Blacknight has put it. Wouldn't it take a lot of money to buy a business?

I believe you are interested in buying a business? If so where would your funds come from?

small start-up lah! My life savings.
Anyway, I do see some business for taking over in Singapore - cyber cafe, restaurant, tuition centre, mini-mart shop, boutique, saloon......many in some kind of website which I lost the link. Ranges from S$10K-S$200K.
Some offer partnership too!

I am surprised, there really are businesses for sale in Singapore.

There is a cyber-cafe in katong for sale. It is under the IT / Internet-related category.

Though it is useful, these does not seem to be as many businesses for sale in Singapore. Maybe our country is just too small.

Law of probabilities, small country, lesser shops, even lesser shops for sale.

Some people create and run a business and later sell it. My friend in Hong Kong ran a restaurant, and later sold the business to a big restaurant group. A famous business man in HK created a big telecommunication business(it was called orange) and sold his business to a European telecom group (who was thinking of penetrating Hong Kong market); it was a record personal business transaction.
You never know, you may have such a good business network/operation in Singapore and some company from China wants to buy over....?

There are many reasons for people to want to sell their business. It could be that they could better use their money elsewhere. Like if the business generated 10% of returns per annum for the business owner, and he knows he can get 20% returns elsewhere, he could pick the one with the higher returns.

Big companies with big budgets also can help to grow the company beyond what the founder could have hoped.

It could be the current business owner bought it from the founder and has no emotional attachment or feelings for the business, and is willing to re-sell the business when needed.
